YOUR COMPLAINT COUNTS

Increasingly government, financial and police authorities only act if they receive a complaint. This is particularly true of 'white collar' scams. So if you find you have paid vastly over the odds for a wine that some smooth talking sales person has told you is a great investment, make sure you complain.

investdrinks has made this easy. You can email your complaint direct to the relevant authority. You may well want to send the same complaint to several different bodies. In the UK, for instance, you should complain to both the Department for Business Enterprise & Regulatory Reform and the Metropolitan Police Fraud Squad.

Make your complaint as factual as possible and include all the relevant details. Make sure you include your postal address in your message.

(Department for Business Enterprise & Regulatory Reform)
Go to insolvency.gov.uk/cib/index.htm - the Companies Investigation Branch of the Insolvency Service, which is part of BERR, Department for Business Enterprise & Regulatory Reform. You will find an electronic complaint form and an explanation of what the department does, how it works and what it won’t investigate (eg partnerships).
The contact telephone number is 020-7596 6001 - ask for the duty officer. You can also send an email to vetting.section@berr.gsi.gov.uk
